• Responsible for providing general direct and indirect patient care in a clinical setting under the direct supervision of a physician. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure functionality of practice operations to provide excellent patient care. Works in a clerical, administrative, or clinical capacity and may perform more specialized tasks.
• Handle patient intake, update medical records, and administer appropriate screening tools.
• Record medical information and test results, conduct patient interviews, take and record vital signs, collect specimens, and administer medications under physician supervision.
• Assist with walk-in and scheduled clinic visits, verify and record clinical data, and adhere to quality standards.
• Guide patients through the health care system and help patients arrive at scheduled appointments on time.
• Take vital signs to establish a baseline for future exams; assist with examinations in collaboration with physicians.
• Collect and prepare laboratory samples, instructing patients on how to collect samples or drawing blood.
• Maintain excellent communication, work ethic, active listening, adaptability to a fast-paced environment, and uphold professionalism at all times; strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Greet patients, schedule appointments, and maintain medical records in the computer system; ensure patient rooms are clean and prepared for visits.
• Prepare examination rooms, disinfect equipment, and stock supplies; provide emotional support related to the patient's clinical situation in accordance with the care plan.
• Assist with referrals to appropriate specialists for diagnosis or treatment; perform other related duties as assigned.

Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• National Certification CCMA from: NHA, AAMA, NAHP, ARMA, AMT, AMCA, or NCCT.
• OR Precertification agreement must be signed if expired or receiving certification within 60 days of employment.

Preferred:

• Associate's degree in Medical Care or related field.
• 1 year of experience in health care services.
• 2+ years of experience in outpatient, ambulatory settings.
• Excellent communication, work ethic, active listening, adaptability to a fast-paced environment, and professionalism.
• BLS on hire.
• EPIC or similar EMR system; ability to work within computer systems.
