Echo Sonographer II / Vascular Tech II

Conducts comprehensive ultrasound examinations and associated clinical duties.

• Perform comprehensive ultrasound exams following established protocols. Verify patient identity, provide instruction, observe the procedure, ensure patient education, cooperation and safety, and assist in continuing quality assurance and performance improvement.
• Complete clerical tasks related to ultrasound tests, accurately record all findings, report critical results promptly, and maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and other center personnel, maintain a pleasant and informative manner, and make recommendations to the supervisor regarding related duties, policies, and procedures.
• Enhance teamwork by demonstrating motivation, enthusiasm, accountability, and problem‑solving in difficult situations. Seek assistance when needed, accept suggestions positively, and mentor others. Show understanding of how individual performance impacts the team.
• Maintain the work area in a clean and orderly manner: clean patient areas after each use, keep the lab orderly, notify the supervisor of stocking or equipment needs, and take responsibility for lab opening and closing procedures as appropriate. Clean all equipment in accordance with infection control policies.
• Identify own learning needs, respond to departmental needs, attend in‑services and meetings, strive to increase proficiency in testing and other lab procedures, and suggest new, more efficient or economical techniques and processes.

• Minimum Education
  :
  High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited CVT school with a focus on echocardiography (CAAHEP accredited preferred).
• Registry through CCI or ARDMS.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer proficiency.
• For Echo Sonographer II:
  Registered Sonographer status.
• For Vascular Tech II: RVT/RVS certification.
