Job Title

Demand Lead –

Location:

Morristown, NJ. Hybrid work schedule. 20% travel expected.

Job Purpose

The Demand Lead supports the North America business by maximizing product availability, optimizing cash & costs, and acting as a liaison between Business Units (BUs) and Manufacturing & Supply (M&S).

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead the execution of efficient market‑level Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes, driving continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Demand Planners, BUs, Finance, Regulatory, Quality, and upstream production planners to align market needs and trends in one data set with scenarios and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Demand Planners and other Demand Leads to ensure a lean and effective planning cycle.
IBP Process Management
  • Engage and align key stakeholders through all 5 steps of the monthly IBP process:
    Product Portfolio Management, Demand Review, Supply Review, Integrated Reconciliation, and Management Business Review (M ).
  • Oversee Product Portfolio Management activities—including divestments, pruning, coding, sourcing changes, launches, and periodic master‑data reviews.
  • Ensure Demand Review meetings record accurate assumptions, gaps, actions, and escalations at the product level.
  • Monitor supply constraints and share insights with stakeholders.
  • Align with Finance to reconcile operational vs. financial forecasts and devise realistic action plans.
  • Orchestrate M  meetings, documenting minutes, defining actions, and following up.
Performance & Metrics
  • Deliver KPI targets, including sales performance, OTIF, MAPE & SPA, inventory targets, destructions, and write‑offs.
  • Analyze key performance metrics and related KPIs, identify improvement opportunities, and implement actions.
  • Track performance through IBP dashboards and reporting tools, taking corrective actions to improve.
  • Periodically review inventory targets, lead times, and end‑to‑end physical flows to optimize cash flow.
  • Lead Obsolescence/Destruction/Returns (ODR) discussions and collaborate with BU stakeholders to mitigate inventory provisions.
Global Product Leadership & Supply Chain Engagement
  • Act as focal point for Global Product Leaders and GBU Supply Chain, participating in global product reviews and following up on major demand & supply variations.
  • Lead or participate in new product launches, line extensions, network changes, and other projects, ensuring flawless, on‑time implementation without supply interruption.
  • Establish close working relationships with Global Supply Chain IBP leads and other global/central functions for effective two‑way communication, planning, and execution.
  • Ensure compliance with Sanofi standards for all processes and activities.
  • Engage in the Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE) process to align short‑term supply chain operations with the IBP planning horizon.
About You – Requirements & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in supply chain or manufacturing industry.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Experience managing the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico demand markets.
  • Experience launching new products from a supply‑chain perspective to support North America markets.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical primary and secondary manufacturing processes.
  • Understanding of manufacturing finances and ability to apply them to supply‑chain management and improvement projects.
  • Basic knowledge of regulatory processes and requirements.
  • Skilled in scenario planning, risk/benefit analysis, contingency planning, and problem solving.
  • Strong internal marketing and communication skills with a willingness to drive change.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills; ability to motivate and influence non‑reporting resources.
  • Proficiency in SAP and Kinaxis (preferred) and project‑management skills with basic financial understanding.
  • Demonstrated high standards of integrity, professionalism, and commitment.
  • Strong team facilitation, relationship‑building, and anticipation of future scenario consequences.
