Atlantic Health is Seeking a Per Diem Physician Assistant for Cardiac Surgery

Atlantic Health, one of New Jersey’s largest non-profit healthcare networks, is seeking a per diem Physician Assistant (PA) to join the nationally recognized Cardiac Surgery team at Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center. This is an outstanding opportunity to contribute to one of the region’s premier cardiac programs, which performs more than 1,000 open-heart procedures each year and holds a prestigious three-star rating from The Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) Adult Cardiac Surgery Report for excellence in Isolated CABG, CABG/AVR, and Mitral Valve Repair/Replacement.

The Physician Assistant will serve as first assist in the operating room and provide expert care to post-operative cardiac surgery patients. Proficiency in Endoscopic Vein Harvesting, Open Radial Artery Harvesting, and Femoral Vessel Exposure is required. The PA must also be skilled in procedures including central and arterial line placement, chest tube insertion, and suturing.

• Master’s degree as Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant from an accredited program
• NP or PA Certification and NJ License is required
• DEA and CDS is required
• ACLS and BLS required
• Minimum of 2-3 years of Critical Care or Cardiology experience
• Must have excellent communication and computer skills
• Strong work ethic and a team player who can work independently

Pediatric cardiology services are available at Goryeb Children’s Hospital, located on the Morristown Medical Center campus.
