Advanced Practice Professional (APP) – Cardiac Step-Down Unit

The Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute at Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Professional (APP) to join the team on the 12-bed Cardiac Step-Down Unit. The APP will work collaboratively with physicians, fellow APPs, and the multidisciplinary care team to assess, manage, and coordinate care for acutely ill cardiac patients.

This is a full-time role with 12‑hour shifts, nights only, no call, and one weekend per month required.

• Direct involvement in medical consultation, patient assessments, procedures, and care planning.
• Specialize in the management of complex cardiac conditions, recommend diagnostic testing, and initiate appropriate treatment strategies in collaboration with the attending team.
• Procedural experience, including central and arterial line placement, and background in critical care or step-down environments; point‑of‑care ultrasound experience preferred.

• Master’s degree as Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant from an accredited program
• NP or PA Certification and NJ License is required
• DEA and CDS is required
• ACLS and BLS required
• Minimum of 2–3 years of critical care or cardiology experience
• Excellent communication and computer skills
• Strong work ethic and a team player who can work independently
