Atlantic Health System is Seeking a Per Diem Advanced Practice Professional (NP/PA)

Atlantic Health System, one of New Jersey’s largest non-profit healthcare networks, is seeking an Advanced Practice Professional (NP/PA) to join the Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute, Cardiac Surgery Program at Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center. This role is ideal for self‑starters and gives an NP or PA the opportunity to be part of a growing and well‑established group with robust staff.

The Morristown Medical Center is the hub for Atlantic Health System’s Heart Care program and offers a superior cardiac surgery program. It is the highest volume cardiac surgery program in New Jersey for over 15 years, with more than 1,200 open‑heart procedures performed annually, and has been recognized nationally by U.S. News & World Report.

As an Advanced Practice Professional, you will work in a 24‑bed Critical Care unit, providing pre‑ and post‑operative care for cardiac surgery patients. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team that includes surgeons, intensivists, NPs, and PAs. You will perform procedures such as central line placement and arterial line insertion, and will initiate appropriate interventions, diagnostic tests, and orders. Critical Care experience is preferred.

• Master’s degree as Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant from an accredited program
• NP or PA certification and New Jersey license required
• DEA and CDS certification required
• ACLS and BLS certification required
• Minimum of 2–3 years of Critical Care or Cardiology experience
• Excellent communication and computer skills
• Strong work ethic, team player, able to work independently
