Job Overview
Atlantic Health System is seeking a Per Diem Advanced Practice Professional (NP/PA) to join the Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute, Cardiac Surgery Program at Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center. The role will work in a 24‑bed critical care unit and provide pre‑ and post‑operative care for cardiac surgery patients as part of an interdisciplinary team that includes surgeons, intensivists, NPs, and PAs.
Responsibilities- Provide pre‑ and post‑operative care for cardiac surgery patients in the 24‑bed critical care unit.
- Perform procedural skills such as central line placements, arterial line insertions, and other clinical interventions.
- Initiate appropriate interventions, orders, and diagnostics based on patient status.
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, intensivists, NPs, and PAs in an interdisciplinary team.
- Master's degree as Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant from an accredited program.
- NP or PA certification and a valid New Jersey license.
- DEA and CDS registrations required.
- ACLS and BLS certifications required.
- Minimum of 2‑3 years of critical care or cardiology experience.
- Excellent communication and computer skills.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently as a team player.
- Hourly rate: $58.56 – $103.06
