Job Overview

The Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant role will be working in the Emergency Medicine specialty at Morristown Medical Center (OBS - EM Morristown, NJ). The position supports the launch and leadership of a new Clinical Decision Unit (CDU), a dedicated space bridging the Emergency Department (ED) and inpatient care to provide seamless, high-quality care for patients requiring continued evaluation after ED treatment.

• Provide advanced clinical care in the Emergency Department and CDU.
• Lead clinical decision-making and patient flow between ED and inpatient services.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including emergency, hospitalist, and specialty services.
• Utilize the EMR (Epic) to document care and support fast-track and rapid discharge processes.
• Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives, including trauma and pediatric care protocols.

• 2+ years of clinical practice experience in Emergency Medicine, Hospitalist Medicine, or Critical Care/ICU.
• Board certification or eligibility in the relevant specialty preferred.
• Strong clinical decision-making skills and ability to work in a fast-paced ED environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Annual ED volume: 110,000 visits (including 120 pediatric visits). The ED is a Level I Trauma Center with modernized treatment areas, fast-track and geriatric services, and specialized behavioral health resources. The facility utilizes the latest technology and Epic EMR to support patient care.
