American Traveler is hiring an RN for a high-acuity Stepdown/SDU position requiring at least 1 year of ICU experience and an active NJ or compact RN license.

• Work in a high acuity Stepdown Unit (SDU) within a hospital setting
• Provides care across the continuum from pre-operative to post-operative surgical patients
• Schedule includes 12-hour AM shifts, 7a-7p, three days per week
• 36 hours per week
• Floating as needed, including to a nearby sister hospital
• On-call responsibilities required
• Uses EPIC for charting

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
• EPIC charting experience preferred

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments across all age groups from pediatric to geriatric
• Deliver competent clinical care including use of emergency equipment and procedures
• Maintain accurate documentation of nursing care and patient progress
• Support pre-admission testing (PAT) processes, including evaluating orders for appropriateness
• Provide patient and family education on surgical procedures and post-operative care
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals, including use of two patient identifiers and safe transfer techniques
• Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
