Medical Technologist & Lab Technician
Job Responsibilities
- Performs comprehensive ultrasound exams following established protocols to verify, plan, set up, perform, and report appropriate examinations.
- Verifies identity, informs and observes patients during procedures to ensure patient education, cooperation, and safety.
- Assists in continuing quality assurance and performance improvement.
- Completes clerical tasks associated with ultrasound tests, records all testing information accurately and timely, and reports critical results promptly.
- Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Communicates with physicians, patients, and other center personnel, maintaining a pleasant and informative manner.
- Provides recommendations to supervisor on related duties, policies, and procedures.
- Promotes teamwork, demonstrates accountability and problem‑solving, seeks assistance when needed, and mentors others.
- Makes sure the work area remains clean and orderly, cleans patient areas after each use, and assists in maintaining a clean environment in the lab.
- Notifies supervisor of stocking needs, equipment needs, or problems and takes responsibility for lab opening and closing procedures.
- Ensures all equipment is cleaned and maintained according to hospital infection control policies and procedures.
- Registry through CCI or ARDMS.
- Training/Certification:
Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association. - Excellent interpersonal skills, effective verbal and written communication, and basic computer proficiency.
