Statistical Project Leader – Morristown, NJ
OverviewProvide leadership and guidance as the lead statistician on one or more project teams, accountable for all methodological and statistical aspects of projects. Act as a statistical consultant within the company.
Main Responsibilities- Lead one moderate project or several indications, or a highly complex large study in late phase or early development.
- Direct statistical support and scientific leadership with minimal direction from the group head.
- Be accountable for statistical aspects of early or late clinical development, medical affairs plans, studies and submissions, including quality, relevance to external stakeholders, and scientific validity.
- Mentor project staff, promote teamwork, quality, operational efficiency, and innovation.
- Ensure project team compliance with SOPs and departmental standards.
- Plan and track project activities, timelines, and resource use; justify resource needs and optimize allocation.
- Utilize external groups such as CROs or DMCs and respond to unscheduled increases in workload.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior staff, and collaborate with other functions and statistics project leaders.
- Represent statistics in regulatory meetings and participate in scientific or technology working groups.
- Contribute to process optimization and provide inputs to statistics standards.
- PhD or Master’s degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Applied Mathematics, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
- PhD holders: minimum 5 years of experience;
Master holders: minimum 7 years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, or related industries. - Academic or research experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated strong project/study management skills.
- Broad knowledge and understanding of advanced statistical concepts and techniques.
- Extensive experience in clinical development or post‑marketing activities, including submissions and regulatory interactions.
- Experience in a relevant therapeutic area.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to represent Sanofi in cross‑company activities.
Salary range: $148,500 – $214,500. Compensation is commensurate with experience. Eligible employees may participate in company benefit programs, including high-quality healthcare, wellness programs, and at least 14 weeks of gender-neutral parental leave.
