This position offers an exciting opportunity to support formulation development activities within a collaborative pharmaceutical development environment. The successful candidate will contribute to formulation strategy execution, conduct laboratory experiments, analyze and interpret data, and support innovation initiatives across multiple projects. Through hands-on laboratory work and collaboration with cross-functional teams, this role provides valuable experience in pharmaceutical sciences, drug delivery, formulation development, and product innovation.
YOURTASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute formulation development strategy for assigned projects;
- Perform hands-on laboratory experiments and formulation development activities;
- Solve technical problems through the application of scientific knowledge and creative thinking;
- Conduct pre-formulation activities and material characterization of APIs and excipients;
- Conduct testing of physical attributes of formulation compositions, prototypes, and new products;
- Analyze and interpret data generated from testing and characterization activities and prepare summary reports;
- Support the formulation team through literature searches and technical reviews;
- Present project summaries to formulation and cross-functional teams;
- Write and review development plans and technical reports;
- Participate in and contribute to innovation activities;
- Interact regularly with members of the formulation team and other functional groups within the Development Center.
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required:- Currently pursuing a master's or doctoral degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmacy, Drug Delivery, Chemical Engineering, or a related field;
- Ability to commit to a six-month Co-op assignment;
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently on multiple projects under aggressive timelines;
- Strong computer and digital skills, including Microsoft Office applications, DOE software, modeling, and simulation tools;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Positive, proactive attitude and willingness to learn;
- Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to think outside the box.
- Experience with Near-Infrared (NIR) spectroscopy and Process Analytical Technology (PAT);
- Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE) and data analysis;
- Hands-on laboratory experience in a research or development environment.
Employees can expect to be paid an hourly rate of approximately between $22.75 to $47.75. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits may include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. (if relevant). This salary (or salary range) is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
