Commercial Tire Technician

This role involves performing a variety of tire-related services, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. • Repair damaged tires of automobiles, buses, trucks, and other automotive vehicles.
• Lift customer vehicles with a hand jack, unbolt wheels with a lug wrench, and remove wheels carefully by hand.
• Locate punctures in tubeless tires by visual inspection or by immersing inflated tires in a water bath and observing air bubbles.
• Seal punctures in tubeless tires by inserting adhesive material and expanding rubber plugs using hand tools.
• Separate tubed tires from wheels using a rubber mallet and metal bar or mechanical tire changer.
• Inspect tire casings for defects and repair them using appropriate methods and tools.
• Reassemble tires onto wheels and balance them using a balancing machine.
• Hammer required counterweights onto the rim of the rim of the wheel.
• Clean sides of white wall tires and remount wheels onto vehicles.
• Rotate tires to different positions on vehicles as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized shop floor and equipment.
• Care for all tools and equipment, ensuring they are returned to their proper place.
• Perform other duties essential to the day-to-day operations of the business.
• Participate in the cleaning of the employee restroom on a rotating schedule with other employees.

• Experience with semi truck and trailer tire experience is required.
• Ability to lift 65 lbs or more.
• Experience with tire changers and balancing machines.
• Experience in proper removal and installation of wheels and tires.
• Ability to work in a loud environment with machinery and air guns.
• Experience operating 2 and 4 post hydraulic lifts.
• Working knowledge of lube and oil change practices.
• Having own tools is a plus, but isn't required.
