To provide every student with the curriculum and instruction that enables them to achieve at the highest level possible in the instructional leader's area of responsibility.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPSDirectly responsible to the principal, Director of Instruction, and Director of Student Support Services. Responsible for the supervision of staff members in the curriculum leader's area of responsibility.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESWill provide leadership in the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the school instructional program.
- Curriculum evaluations and revisions
- Development and review of benchmarks to monitor progress 6-12
- Collection and analysis of data 6-12
- Modeling of effective instructional practices
Will communicate with students, parents, administrators, and staff members in a manner which is consistent with district vision and expectations.
- Subject area liaison with principals and staff of MS and HS
- Articulation of subject area curriculum with staff, BOE members, and parents.
- Monthly meeting with the Principals of MS and HS
- Bi‑monthly meeting with Director of Instruction and Assistant Superintendent
- Weekly meetings with Director and Assistant Director of Student Support Services
Will employ planning, record‑keeping, resource management, and learning environment management practices which are consistent with district and school expectations, and which maximize the curriculum leader's effectiveness.
Evaluate and supervise special education, related service staff and para educators in grades 9‑12
Attend 1 after‑school district curriculum meeting per month
Involvement with hiring of staff in curriculum area
Manage budget allocations for curriculum area
Attend District Administrative Meetings as requested by the Superintendent
Manage the Masuk High School Unified Sports Team
Supervise the support staff and paraprofessionals
Will assume professional responsibilities in a manner which meets district and school expectations and ensures continued personal and professional growth. Will provide leadership in staff development activities.
- Chair planning and placement meetings at both the STEM Academy and Masuk High School
- Participate in District Professional Development and Curriculum Council meetings
The Instructional Leader's work year will be 197 days. The specific days will be discussed with the administration. May teach classes in the instructional leader's certification area as needed.
Will perform other duties as assigned.
