Role Overview
Jacobs invites you to join our Mechanical Engineering team as a Mechanical BIM Modeler with Revit software experience. In this hybrid, full‑time role based in New York City, you will support the NY/NJ Mechanical and Fire Life Safety team on transportation facilities projects. Your work will cover preparing 3‑D models and CAD drawings, coordinating with multiple disciplines for interference checking and quality control, and aiding the BIM implementation process under the guidance of senior engineers.
Responsibilities• Prepare 3‑D BIM models and CAD drawings using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Conduct preliminary assessments, concept development, and site inspections.
• Produce design documentation, drawings, and specifications.
• Coordinate with design disciplines for interference checking and quality control.
• Maintain models and drawings in accordance with project design criteria and best practices.
- Higher Certificate / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with Revit and AutoCAD.
- Preferably hold Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification.
- Preferably hold a recognized BIM, certificate, diploma or higher.
- Solid experience with 3‑D modelling software (Revit), BIM 360 / Construction Cloud, and AutoCAD.
- Provide support to BIM manager, BIM coordinator and senior mechanical designer in BIM implementation on projects.
- Good command of spoken and written English.
