Responsibilities- Understand project requirements and design building automation solutions for higher education and K‑12 education facilities, data centers, hospitals, pharmaceutical facilities, high‑rise buildings, and lab facilities.
- Demonstrate expertise in engineering and contracting processes, with a strong grasp of submittal requirements and documentation standards essential for project success.
- Attend internal and external meetings to support potential opportunities and contribute technical details to project designs; meetings can be held at project sites, contractor offices and/or Siemens area offices.
- Prepare and/or work with an engineer to prepare design documents, including mechanical system layouts, electrical drawings, system integration, bills of materials, sequences of operations, valve and damper schedules, and DDC panel layouts.
- Design building automation network architecture to support operator workstations, DDC field panels, and third‑party integration devices connected through Modbus, Siemens APOGEE, Desigo or BACnet.
- Analyze plans, construction contract specifications, and codes to determine project requirements and risks.
- Design building and space pressurization solutions, chiller and boiler plant sequencing control, etc.
- Prepare engineering re‑estimates and follow up with appropriate sales and management to ensure understanding of and satisfaction with job scope.
- Perform quality assurance; peer‑review engineering documents.
- High school diploma or state‑recognized GED.
- 5+ years of experience in building automation (HVAC controls) design.
- Ability to travel up to 35%.
- Demonstrated ability to design large and complex jobs with some deviation using standard tools, products, and practices.
- Demonstrated knowledge of industry engineering fundamentals and business operations.
- Demonstrated proficiency in engineering design software or drafting tools such as AutoCAD or Microsoft Visio.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree.
- 7+ years of building automation (HVAC controls) design experience.

Salary: $70,972 – $121,666
