We are seeking an experienced Senior Traffic & ITS Engineer / Project Manager to lead and grow our Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and Traffic Engineering practice across the New York and New Jersey region. The ideal candidate is a licensed Professional Engineer with a strong technical background, proven project management experience, and established relationships with key regional transportation agencies.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage traffic and ITS projects from planning and design through delivery.
- Serve as a primary client contact for agencies such as NYSDOT, NJDOT, and the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey (PANYNJ).
- Develop and execute strategies to expand the firm’s NY/NJ traffic and ITS portfolio, identifying new opportunities and strengthening existing client relationships.
- Provide technical oversight and mentorship to a growing team of traffic and ITS engineers, fostering professional development and high‑quality project delivery.
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, and resource planning to ensure successful outcomes.
- Coordinate with multi‑disciplinary teams to deliver innovative and sustainable traffic and ITS solutions.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in NY or NJ (dual licensure preferred).
- Substantial professional experience in traffic engineering and/or intelligent transportation systems (ITS).
- Demonstrated experience managing projects for NYSDOT, NJDOT, and/or PANYNJ.
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and mentor junior staff.
- Strong understanding of regional transportation systems, traffic analysis tools, and ITS technologies.
- Excellent communication, client management, and business‑development skills.
