* ** Summary**  **:
** The Field Safety Supervisor monitors safety and health regulations and provides technical support to plant and personnel to ensure compliance with federal and state safety and health regulations.

** Essential Duties and Responsibilities**  **:*

1. Works closely with staff in project management, human resources, legal, operations, and research and development.

2. Provides technical safety and health support and information to field personnel and corporate personnel.

3. Enforces safety and health programs and policies.

4. Identifies company safety training needs and develops and coordinates safety training programs.

5. Participates in new product/process reviews, including process hazard analyses, operator training, etc.

6. Supports corporate/Project Management to implement engineering controls to minimize safety and occupational health

hazards.

1. Supports field personnel in selection of appropriate personal protective equipment.

2. Maintains corporate safety library (e.g., videos, regulations, reference manuals).

3. Promotes safety and health awareness through internal company memoranda, newsletters and specific training

programs.

1. Serves as member of the executive environmental health and safety committee.

2. Participates in company occupational safety and health committee.

3. Assists as necessary in implementation of a hazard communication program and preparation of reports.

4. Reviews process-operating procedures/records and provides input for safety and health considerations.

5. Understands federal and state occupational safety and health regulations and monitors regulatory changes as they

occur.

1. Provides technical support to corporate and field personnel to ensure compliance with applicable occupational safety

and health regulations.

1. Audits practices and records of manufacturing plants to ensure compliance with company programs and federal/state

occupational safety and health regulations.

1. Monitors lost-time injuries/illnesses and worker's compensation claims.

2. Reviews plant safety committee meeting minutes and safety inspection reports and follows up as necessary.

3. Reviews injury/illness and noninjury incident investigation reports and follows up as necessary.

4. Develop/coordinate SWPs, JSA, and other safety planning documents

* SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

*
* ** This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, though management of the safety program includes directing safety related activities.  Also serves as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.*
* ** EDUCATION AND/OR

EXPERIENCE:

*
* 1. Bachelor's degree in a safety science, engineering or equivalent; and/or

2. At least five years of previous experience in safety coordinator position or higher.

** Reasoning Ability:*
* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
