Your ContributionAs an Electrical Engineer – Technical Services reporting to the Supervisor in Engineering Maintenance and Projects you will be responsible for researching, planning, and designing mechanical and electromechanical products and systems. You will also direct and coordinate activities involved in the fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of mechanical or electromechanical products and systems by performing the following duties.
This role is responsible to:- Support and direction of maintenance technicians in repair of equipment.
- Optimization of production equipment and automation.
- Hardwire design, programming, and commissioning of automation systems and production equipment.
- Use of CAD, PLC, HMI, vision, motion, and robotics software for machine support, design, and commissioning.
- Specification and procurement of hardware and equipment.
- Design and evaluation of safety systems.
- Installation of production equipment and automation including direction of resources.
- Research and analyze data such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
- Plan and direct engineering personnel in fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment, and development of methods and procedures for testing products or systems.
- Direct and coordinate fabrication and installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications.
- Evaluate field installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
- Provide supervision of 2-10 internal skilled trades labor and external contractors. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, directing work, and appraising performance. Assist in interviewing and recommend hiring of new job candidates.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from a four‑year college or university majoring in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
- One to two years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Applicant should be knowledgeable in the areas of industrial hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC machine controls, robotics, blueprint interpretation, and precision measurement techniques.
