ASSEMBLY ENGINEER
Production Assembly Engineer needed for an automotive manufacturing facility located near Knoxville, TN.
Starting salary range is $80,000 to $95,000 per year depending on experience, education, and training. These are first-shift positions that offer an excellent benefits package including Health, Life, Dental, Vision and paid time off. This is a DIRECT HIRE opportunity.
Job DescriptionProduction Engineers are responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective operation and improvement of operations. Successful candidates must have experience with high speed assembly machines, CNC controls, FANUC robotics, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems, PLC programming, tooling geometry, and machine tool processes. Engineering experience with high volume manufacturing and metal removal machinery is required.
Responsibilities include:- Determine Root Cause for defects and machine breakdown to include troubleshooting guides where applicable.
- Support Production Engineering department projects including engineering changes, new products, localization of components, process development and/or confirmation with data, confirmation of parts from new tooling, replacement of obsolete machine components, line improvements (Kaizen), etc.
- Develop and maintain machine and tooling drawings including creating new drawings, revising old drawings, and communicating drawing updates to affected departments.
- Automated equipment troubleshooting experience.
- Fixture design, tooling design, and gage design.
- Familiar with TS16949 and ISO 14001.
- Support the operation of both pre-production and production of assembly areas and Kaizen teams.
- Work with maintenance department on machine startups, breakdowns, and process improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field (preferably mechanical or electrical)
- Two to five years’ experience in high speed assembly machines.
- Experience with PLC controls (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Toyopuc)
- Experience with metal removal machinery.
- Experience with Fanuc robotics and Fanuc CNC controls.
- Experience with CAD (computer aided drafting)
