Your ContributionAs an Electrical Engineer – Technical Services reporting to the Supervisor of Engineering Maintenance and Projects, you will research, plan, and design mechanical and electromechanical products and systems and supervise their fabrication, installation, and repair.
This role is responsible for:
- Supporting and directing maintenance technicians in equipment repair.
- Optimizing production equipment and automation.
- Designing, programming, and commissioning hardwire and automation systems, including automation of production equipment.
- Using CAD, PLC, HMI, vision, motion, and robotics software for machine support, design, and commissioning.
- Specifying and procuring hardware and equipment.
- Designing and evaluating safety systems.
- Installing production equipment and automation while directing resources.
- Researching and analyzing data from customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility.
- Planning and directing engineering personnel in fabricating test control apparatus and equipment and developing testing methods and procedures.
- Coordinating fabrication and installation activities to ensure conformance with engineering design and customer specifications.
- Evaluating field installations and recommending design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
- Supervising 2‑10 internal skilled trades labor and external contractors, including training, planning, directing work, and appraising performance; assisting in interviewing and hiring new job candidates.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from a four‑year college or university.
- One to two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledgeable in industrial hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC machine controls, robotics, blueprint interpretation, and precision measurement techniques.
