Job Title
Monitors the control systems of automated equipment.
Job DescriptionTo do their job, they often use software to verify that the controls are within certain parameters. When controls exceed or fall below specifications, they must quickly troubleshoot the problem to avoid or minimize interruptions to production.
- Read, interpret, and provide red line feedback with electrical and pneumatic schematics
- Build, wire, and assist in commissioning of electrical and pneumatic automated control systems
- Use Client Machine Drafting Standards to supply equipment designs, schematics, and layouts
- Establish and maintain working relationships with vendors to ensure prompt and accurate deliveries of materials
- Install and assist commissioning of new Automation assets, panel builds, and drawing updates
- Build control panels to NFPA
79/UL508A standards - Initiates and maintains documentation throughout the development and qualification process
- Aids in Capital equipment installations
- Troubleshoot PLC and electrical control systems
- Perform job duties in a safe and efficient manner
- Perform other work-related duties as necessary
EDUCATION:
Associates Degree Industrial Instrumentation, Electronics
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 5 years' experience in Manufacturing Controls Systems. Proven track record of successful completion of projects involving software integration, calibration or troubleshooting. Ability to produce and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings. Strong written communication skills with a keen eye for details in documents.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Applied knowledge in statistics, problem solving, root cause analysis, process improvement and/or Six Sigma is desired.
- Demonstratable hands-on skill in fault finding and problem resolution
- PLC and HMI programming experience
- Electrical Schematic drawing experience
