Summary Description
We are seeking an experienced Electrical/Controls Engineer with strong PLC programming and industrial automation skills. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with Siemens STEP 7 and Schneider Electric PLC platforms, along with proficiency in AutoCAD and CMMS software for maintenance planning, scheduling, and team coordination.
This position is located in Morristown, TN and 100% onsite
What you'll be doing
- Develop and modify PLC programs using Siemens STEP 7 and Schneider Electric PLC software
- Ensure the safety of all employees by leading a comprehensive safety process to prevent injuries. Lead plant compliance of all federal, state and local environmental and safety regulations.
- Perform as a key member of the plant leadership team – positive communicator and problem solver - driving for plant/process improvements, meeting objectives and setting the bar for performance standards.
- Support pillar continuous improvement activities.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in industrial electrical controls
- Diagnoses and resolve electrical, control, and automation issues in industrial equipment
- Assist with system upgrades, commissioning, and start-ups
- Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to improve equipment reliability
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and company procedures
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and change records
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for electrical drawings and schematics
- Experience using CMMS software for maintenance scheduling and asset management
- Ability to read and interpret electrical / mechanical schematics
- Experience with VFDs, motor controls, and industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Modbus)
- Strong understanding of OSHA requirements related to equipment in-house. Ability to identify gaps and assist in implementing countermeasures to achieve Zero Safety Incidents.
- Ability to lead and develop a highly collaborative and effective team.
- Proficient in Root Cause Analysis techniques (FMEA's, 5
Why's, ATS, etc.) and developing/implementing Countermeasures to drive Zero Breakdown culture. - Process-oriented. Can identify gaps in any process and implement solutions.
- Management experience in manufacturing or industrial environments
- Ability to lead, prioritize, and coordinate work for maintenance and technical teams
- Experience planning and scheduling work using CMMS or similar systems
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and reliability initiatives
- Strong project management skills, including task prioritization, timelines, and resource allocation
- Effective communication skills for working with operations, management, and external vendors
- Ability to mentor technicians and engineers and support skill development
- Experience managing contractors, vendors, and service providers
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities under time-sensitive conditions
- Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities using CMMS software
- Understanding of safety leadership and enforcement of electrical and workplace safety standards

- Minimum experience 3+ years of successful experience leading a plant maintenance department in an industrial manufacturing environment and/or 5+ years of supervisory manufacturing experience.
- Minimum education required:
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Engineering, or a related field. - Experience with CMMS preferred.
- Experience in TPM or Reliability field preferred
