LHH Recruitment Solutions is assisting our Morris County, NJ client in their search for a Senior Accountant. This is a great opportunity to join an organization with a ton of growth potential. This position is onsite five days per week.
Job Overview- Maintain ownership of all balance sheet obligations, including payables, payroll-related accruals, debt instruments, leases, and other outstanding commitments.
- Perform recurring account validations to confirm balances are complete, accurate, and properly supported.
- Create and maintain detailed roll-forwards, schedules, and supporting documentation related to financial obligations.
- Ensure expenses and liabilities are recorded in the appropriate accounting periods.
- Contribute to the monthly and annual close process with an emphasis on obligation-related accounts.
- Prepare supporting analyses and documentation for audits, reviews, and regulatory examinations.
- Evaluate changes and patterns in outstanding obligations and communicate meaningful insights to leadership.
- Investigate monthly budget-to-actual variances and provide clear explanations for fluctuations.
- Partner with management to identify opportunities to better manage and control expenses and liabilities.
- Support liquidity planning by forecasting cash requirements related to operating and financing obligations.
- Maintain adherence to applicable accounting standards and internal financial policies.
- Identify inefficiencies in current processes and recommend improvements to strengthen accuracy and timeliness.
- Help introduce improved workflows, controls, and best practices within the accounting function.
- Participate in financial system enhancements, upgrades, and new tool implementations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with payables, treasury, and broader finance teams to ensure alignment and consistency.
- Provide liability- and expense-related data to support planning, forecasting, and budgeting activities.
- Assist with special initiatives, one-time analyses, and leadership-driven projects as needed.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- Proficiency in Excel
- Strong proficiency in ERP systems and GL software
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced environment
- Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
- Strong interpersonal skills
Salary Range: $90k-$100k
