Job Description
Atlantic Health is seeking a Full‑Time Medical Physicist Assistant for the Radiation Physics & Safety Department at Morristown Medical Center. Primary coverage will be at Morristown Medical Center, with cross‑coverage at other AHS facilities expected. This position will report to the Manager/Chief Physicist.
Responsibilities- Assist in implementing a comprehensive QA/QC program that includes physics testing of radiographic and fluoroscopic X‑ray imaging devices in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Assist with radiation safety program maintenance, including area surveys, meter calibrations, and radiation dosimetry monitoring.
- Shipping and receiving of equipment used for physics testing and radiation protection surveys, for calibration and repair.
- Assist with implementing a leaded apparel integrity check program.
- Assist with shipping of radioactive quality‑control sources.
- Provide cross‑campus coverage to other Atlantic Health sites as needed.
- Carry out other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma.
- Minimum 5 years of clinical experience.
- NJ Certification as Medical Physicist Assistant in Radiography & Fluoroscopy (preferred).
- Certification as a Radiologic Technologist or Radiation Therapist (preferred).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in basic Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to lift 20 pounds as part of QA testing and apparel integrity program.
