About The Job

As Emerging Capability & Strategic Transition Analyst within our R&D team, you will join Sanofi's Regulatory Data, Digital & AI (Reg DDAI) team and contribute to shaping the Bionic Regulatory Affairs Professional of the Future. In this role, you will help identify and advance emerging capabilities that align with our core transformation pillars:
Translate, Answer, Generate, and Consult — the foundational capabilities that will enable our future operating model through smarter, data‑driven, and AI‑enhanced solutions.

You will work at the intersection of idea validation and capability handover, supporting innovation from early discovery through to strategic transition into business‑as‑usual teams or platforms. This is a strategic and hands‑on role for a curious, analytical, and collaborative professional ready to help scale what's next at Sanofi.

Main Responsibilities
  • Discover & Develop Emerging Capabilities
    • Contribute to the scouting, framing, and early validation of new capabilities aligned with Translate, Answer, Generate, and Consult themes.
    • Analyze feasibility, value, and scalability of MVPs and pilots through collaboration with Capability Leads, Digital Product Owners, and SMEs.
    • Apply principles from Strategyzer and Lean Startup to help advance initiatives through the innovation funnel (Explore → Validate → Scale).
  • Enable Strategic Transitions
    • Support capability transitions into core teams or partners by coordinating readiness, documentation, and stakeholder alignment.
    • Track key indicators such as maturity level, user adoption, and resource fit to assess the timing and pathway for capability handovers.
    • Help define transition plans that balance speed, sustainability, and strategic fit within our operating model.
  • Connect Innovation to Execution
    • Act as a connector between Engagement & Innovation, Capability Owners, and Digital/IT teams to ensure seamless handoffs and continued value realization.
    • Capture lessons learned and value stories from both emerging and transitioning capabilities to inform future investments.
    • Contribute to dashboards, funnel tracking, and communication materials that bring clarity and transparency to our innovation portfolio.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, Business, or a related field required.
About you
  • 8+ years of experience in Regulatory Affairs, Digital Innovation, and/or R&D Transformation, strongly preferred within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and navigate organizational complexity.
  • Experience turning ideas into value drivers and business case development.
Technical Skills
  • Experience presenting to VPs and above with an understanding of storytelling to drive business decisions is required.
  • Exposure to product development, digital solution validation, or AI/automation in a regulated setting is preferred.
  • Experience supporting pilots, MVPs, or business‑led digital initiatives across functions is highly valued.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, prompt engineering, or digital product validation in regulated environments is a strong plus.
Soft Skills
  • Innovation Literacy:
Familiar with design thinking, lean experimentation, and strategic innovation methods.
  • Strategic Thinking:
Able to connect early concepts to long‑term organizational goals and operational realities.
  • Ease with Ambiguity:
Ability to adapt to a nonlinear portfolio of work with constant shifts of priorities.
  • Project & Transition Support:
Skilled in documenting, tracking, and facilitating structured handovers of initiatives.
  • Financial Acumen:
The ability to understand and create business cases (NPV/ROI) to drive decision making.
  • Collaboration:

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across global teams and cultures.
  • Communication:
Comfortable creating compelling visuals, summaries, or updates that make innovation accessible to non‑technical audiences.
