The Sr Consumer Banking Business Analyst supporting the Sales & Service business is responsible for driving insight generation and performance transparency across the Consumer Bank. This role focuses on analyzing business performance, identifying trends and opportunities, and translating complex data into clear, actionable insights that inform strategic and operational decision‑making.
The role partners closely with senior leaders across Consumer Banking to support performance reviews, strategic initiatives, and ongoing business management. It requires strong analytical judgment, deep comfort working with dashboards and reports, and the ability to communicate insights effectively through executive‑ready presentations. Success depends on bridging data and business context while collaborating with data science and analytics teams and maintaining a strong understanding of consumer banking priorities.
Responsibilities- Analyze trends, patterns, and performance drivers across consumer banking products, channels, and customer segments using reports and dashboards.
- Translate data and analytical findings into clear, concise insights and narratives that inform senior leadership decision‑making.
- Develop high‑quality executive presentations, including recurring performance readouts and ad hoc deep dives, for senior management and leadership forums.
- Serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders and data science/analytics teams to ensure dashboards, reports, and advanced analytics initiatives align with business needs and strategic objectives; help frame business problems, assess model performance, and interpret model outputs and key drivers.
- Navigate, interpret, and leverage dashboards and reports built in Power BI to answer business questions and proactively identify emerging trends.
- Perform advanced analysis and modeling using Excel, including forecasting, scenario analysis, variance analysis, and performance tracking; leverage additional analytical tools where appropriate.
- Support continuous improvement of reporting and dashboard usage by identifying gaps, opportunities, and evolving business questions.
- Ensure analytical outputs are accurate, consistent, and clearly understood by non‑technical audiences.
- Contribute to a culture of data‑driven decision‑making across the Consumer Bank.
- Strong ability to interpret and synthesize insights from dashboards, reports, and large data sets.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, modeling, data validation).
- Experience navigating and using Power BI dashboards to extract insights and support business analysis.
- Proven experience building clear, compelling presentations and presenting findings to senior leadership.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for executive audiences.
- Ability to work effectively with data scientists, analytics teams, and technical partners without needing hands‑on SQL or Python expertise.
- Strong business judgment, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a quantitative field such as Statistics, Analytics, Economics, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a business analyst, strategy, performance management, or analytics role, preferably within financial services or consumer banking.
- Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a quantitative field such as Statistics, Analytics, Economics, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Experience supporting strategy, performance management, or executive reporting functions.
- Familiarity with consumer banking products, channels, or customer analytics.
- Experience working closely with senior leaders in a highly visible, insight‑driven role.
