The Seeing Eye is looking for an enthusiastic, service-driven Computer Support Specialist to support our campus in Morristown, NJ. What You’ll Jump IntoIn this role, you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Deliver responsive, friendly technical support that helps staff do their best work.
- Install, maintain, and support physical and virtual Windows servers, including Active Directory and file/print services.
- Help protect business continuity by managing backups and supporting restore processes.
- Assist with the setup, monitoring, and support of wired and wireless networks.
- Support Microsoft 365 administration and related cloud-based tools and services.
- Solve hardware, software, and end-user issues quickly and effectively.
- Build and maintain procedures that make IT support stronger and more efficient.
- Help roll out new systems, tools, and applications across the organization.
- Set up user accounts and keep colleagues moving by resolving password and login issues.
- Install and configure Windows 11 workstations and Windows Server 2022/2025 systems, including physical and Hyper‑V virtual machines.
- Monitor backups and support disaster recovery readiness.
- Help maintain and improve wired and wireless network performance.
- Support testing and monitoring of software and security systems.
- Keep the Help Desk ticketing system organized, monitored, and running smoothly.
- Create and maintain clear documentation for hardware, software, and operating procedures.
- Partner with the IT team to provide dependable, high-quality support across the organization.
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in a technical support or IT support role.
- 2+ years of hands‑on experience administering Windows Server (2019 or newer) in a production environment.
- 2+ years of hands‑on experience supporting enterprise networks, including switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, and cabling.
- Strong knowledge of Windows desktop and server operating systems, including Hyper‑V, Active Directory, and core OS and network security practices.
- Working knowledge of common business and productivity software applications.
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 and related cloud services such as Entra , Exchange, and SharePoint.
- Familiarity with Dell server and storage hardware (SAN and/or NAS).
- Experience with JAWS screen reader technology and web accessibility is a plus.
- Familiarity with HPE and Ubiquiti networking hardware and management software is a plus.
- SQL or database knowledge is a plus.
- Hands‑on experience supporting conference room audio/visual setups, including microphones, sound troubleshooting, and meeting support.
- Ability to manage Windows print servers, including adding, removing, and configuring printers, drivers, and print queues.
- A willingness to learn, adapt, and take on new technical challenges.
