Role Description

This full-time, on-site 5-Axis CNC Machinist role is located in Morristown, TN. The 5-Axis CNC Machinist will program, set up, operate, and adjust 5-axis CNC machines to produce precision parts according to engineering drawings and specifications. Day-to-day responsibilities include interpreting blueprints, selecting appropriate tooling, loading programs, verifying dimensions, and performing routine machine maintenance. The role involves monitoring production runs, inspecting parts using measurement tools, and documenting results to meet quality standards.

The machinist will collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot machining issues, optimize processes, and ensure efficient workflow and safe operations.

Qualifications
  • Strong skills in Machine Operation and Machinery, including setup, adjustment, and basic maintenance of CNC equipment.
  • Demonstrated experience in Machining and Milling, preferably with 5-axis CNC machines and precision metal components.
  • Experience in CNC programming and CAD/CAM.
  • Knowledge of Quality Control practices, including use of measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) and inspection documentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CNC programs, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Understanding of shop safety procedures, material handling, and best practices in a manufacturing environment.
  • Relevant vocational training or technical certification in CNC machining or a related field; prior experience in tool, die, or mold machining is beneficial.
  • Reliable work habits, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and willingness to support overtime or shift flexibility as needed.
