Norwescap is seeking a Coordinator of Friendship at Heart responsible managing and supporting volunteers with individuals needing companionship and support. This involves recruiting, screening, training, and managing volunteers, coordinating visits with clients, and providing ongoing support to ensure the program's effectiveness.
EssentialJob Duties
- Identify, recruit, and interview potential volunteers, ensuring they meet the program's requirements and fit the role well.
- Provide ongoing support, training, and supervision to volunteers, ensuring they have the resources and tools to fulfill their duties successfully.
- Establish and maintain client relationships, understand their needs and preferences, and ensure volunteers provide appropriate and meaningful support.
- Plan and coordinate visits between volunteers and clients, ensuring they are scheduled and conducted safely and effectively.
- Evaluate the program's effectiveness regularly and make recommendations for improvement, ensuring that the program continues to meet the needs of both volunteers and clients.
- Maintain accurate records of volunteer hours, client interactions, and program activities, and prepare reports as needed.
- Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation required
- Experience in community outreach and Program Coordination preferred
- Proficient in using technology as a management reporting tool, as well as proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, Zoom, fax and scanning technologies required
- Personal qualities of integrity, credibility
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc. However, this position may require occasional site visits for specific needs or advisement].
