Skills:

Competent knowledge of growth and development (Pediatric–Geriatric); performs systematic, comprehensive, and accurate patient assessments.

Clinical

Skills:

Demonstrates competent clinical skills; provides direct patient care; knowledgeable in emergency equipment and procedures.

Documentation: Maintains complete and accurate documentation; documents nursing process, patient progress, and education per guidelines.

Professionalism: Demonstrates professional responsibility; knowledgeable of policies/procedures; identifies areas for clinical and professional growth.

Patient Satisfaction: Responds professionally and courteously to patients, families, and coworkers; maintains confidentiality per HIPAA.

Safety: Follows National Patient Safety Goals; uses two patient identifiers; applies safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics.

Unit‑Specific Care: Knowledge of surgical conditions, procedures, and equipment; individualizes care by procedure and anesthesia; assesses patient understanding.

Responsibility & Accountability: Directs and prioritizes patient care based on needs and condition changes.

Patient Education & Chart Completion: Assesses understanding; includes patient/family in teaching; performs pre‑ and post‑operative assessment and education.

PAT RN Duties: Supports timely patient testing; evaluates PAT orders for appropriateness and identifies potential omissions based on surgery, age, and health status.
