Job Overview
Atlantic Health System, one of New Jersey’s largest non‑profit healthcare networks, is seeking a per‑diem Advanced Practice Professional (NP/PA) to join the Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute’s Cardiac Surgery Program at Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center. This role is ideal for self‑starters and offers the opportunity to be part of a growing, well‑established group with a robust staff.
Responsibilities- Provide pre‑operative, intra‑operative, and post‑operative care in the 24‑bed Critical Care unit for cardiac surgery patients.
- Collaborate with surgeons, intensivists, other NP/PA clinicians, and the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans.
- Perform procedures including, but not limited to, central line placements and arterial line insertions.
- Initiate appropriate interventions and orders, and request diagnostic tests as needed.
- Work independently while maintaining strong communication with team members.
- Utilize critical‑care experience to support patient recovery and safety.
- Master’s degree as Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant from an accredited program.
- NP or PA certification and New Jersey license required.
- DEA and CDS certifications required.
- ACLS and BLS certifications required.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of Critical Care or Cardiology experience.
- Excellent communication and computer skills.
- Strong work ethic and teamwork ability; capable of working independently.
