Job Overview

Atlantic Health System, one of New Jersey’s largest non‑profit healthcare networks, is seeking a per‑diem Advanced Practice Professional (NP/PA) to join the Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute’s Cardiac Surgery Program at Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center. This role is ideal for self‑starters and offers the opportunity to be part of a growing, well‑established group with a robust staff.

Responsibilities
  • Provide pre‑operative, intra‑operative, and post‑operative care in the 24‑bed Critical Care unit for cardiac surgery patients.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, intensivists, other NP/PA clinicians, and the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans.
  • Perform procedures including, but not limited to, central line placements and arterial line insertions.
  • Initiate appropriate interventions and orders, and request diagnostic tests as needed.
  • Work independently while maintaining strong communication with team members.
  • Utilize critical‑care experience to support patient recovery and safety.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree as Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant from an accredited program.
  • NP or PA certification and New Jersey license required.
  • DEA and CDS certifications required.
  • ACLS and BLS certifications required.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of Critical Care or Cardiology experience.
  • Excellent communication and computer skills.
  • Strong work ethic and teamwork ability; capable of working independently.
