Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System is a 170-bed hospital serving an eight-county region in East Tennessee’s Lakeway Area. The facility includes more than 20 emergency suites, advanced laboratories, radiology, and therapy services, and a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence for mammograms, biopsies, and nurse navigation. The Women’s Center features six modern labor and delivery suites and a secure nursery for newborn care. Assists Nurse Manager with the delivery of high quality nursing care and administrative management of the Nursing unit. Fulfills all duties and responsibilities associated with the Nurse Supervisor position.

• Assists in selection, training, orienting, developing and evaluating the performance of the department staff.
• Maintains operational reports and records and collects statistical data for administrative and regulatory purposes.
• Assists with coordination and reporting of nursing activities performed on behalf of the patient.
• Establishes and maintains communication between the nursing unit, medical staff and ancillary departments for the purposes of problem solving and quality improvement. Utilizes appropriate lines of communication within the facility.
• Assists with establishment and implementation of unit goals and objectives are in alignment with the facility and system.
• Promotes a safe environment that allows for the delivery of high quality patient care utilizing evidenced based practices.
• Protects patient confidentiality by promoting professional staff communications.
• Supervises, institutes, and evaluates nursing interventions and documentation.
• Demonstrates competence in performing critical skills to include appropriate delivery of care according to the age‑specific needs of the population served.
• Works collaboratively with other disciplines to ensure patient care is timely, efficient, and effective.
• Facilitates professional development of staff.
• Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Graduate of accredited nursing program required; possession of a bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field preferred (required within 3 years in position or effective date of job description).

Three (3) years of recent clinical experience.

Must have and maintain Tennessee State registered nurse license. CPR required.
