Position: Cardiovascular Ultrasound Tech II Per Diem (ECHO)

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive ultrasound exams by following established protocols to verify, plan, set up, perform, and report examinations.
  • Verify patient identity, provide education, observe the patient during the procedure, and ensure cooperation and safety.
  • Assist in continuing quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Complete clerical tasks associated with ultrasound tests, recording all testing information accurately, completely, and promptly.
  • Report critical results in a timely manner in accordance with policy, while maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and other center personnel in a pleasant and informative manner; make recommendations to supervisors regarding duties, policies, and procedures.
  • Promote a teamwork environment by demonstrating motivation, enthusiasm, accountability, and a willingness to mentor and develop others.
Other Duties
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area; clean patient areas and equipment after each use.
  • Notify supervisors of stocking or equipment needs or problems and assist with lab opening and closing procedures.
  • Adhere to Hospital Infection Control policies and procedures when cleaning equipment.
  • Identify learning needs and attend in‑services, lab, and departmental meetings; suggest improvements to techniques, procedures, and processes.
Qualifications
  • Registry through CCI or ARDMS.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Skills and Activities
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Basic proficiency with computer systems.
