Position SummaryThe Quality Group Leader plays a key leadership role in supporting daily quality operations and driving excellence across the manufacturing process. Working closely with the Quality Manager, this role helps ensure product quality, cost efficiency, and safety standards are consistently met. This position provides hands‑on leadership to quality inspectors while partnering cross‑functionally to improve processes, resolve issues, and strengthen overall product performance.
You'll have a direct impact on operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and continuous quality improvement.
- Lead, develop, and train a team of quality inspectors to ensure high performance and consistency.
- Monitor team productivity and adjust priorities to meet operational demands.
- Partner with the Quality Manager to identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and product quality.
- Oversee the proper daily use, inspection, and maintenance of measuring instruments and tooling.
- Provide direct quality support to Product Management and Engineering to resolve customer issues and product returns.
- Serve as a key liaison between Service, Manufacturing, Engineering, Product, and Sales teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support quality control activities for incoming materials, in-process production, and finished goods.
- Compile and analyze daily quality data, identifying trends and leading root cause analysis for nonconformities.
- Perform other related duties as needed to support departmental and company goals.
Education and Experience
- 3+ years of manufacturing experience (lawn equipment or similar industry experience is a plus)
- Hands‑on experience using quality tools and measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, multimeters, and torque wrenches
- Strong understanding of mechanical and/or electronics inspection processes, hardware accessories, and metal processing technologies
- Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams in a collaborative environment
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, hands‑on manufacturing setting
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Experience with MES, MRP, or ERP systems is a plus
