Delivery Professional

Position Summary

We believe that our Delivery Professionals are the heart and soul of our business, serving as the primary ambassadors to our valued customers. We are currently seeking a dedicated and reliable PART‑TIME Delivery Professional to join our team at our Morristown, TN Service Center.

Matthews International is a world wide leader in casket manufacturing, providing the highest quality wood, metal and cremation caskets and other products to our funeral home customers. This position will be responsible for the delivery of new caskets to funeral homes in the surrounding area using company box trucks and vans.

Work Schedule: 4 days a week:
Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Shift

Hours:

7am – Finish. Our drivers are home early in the afternoons. Drivers can expect to work 25‑29 hours weekly.

Starting Pay: $21 per hour.

• Drive truck to deliver products.
• Load trucks for delivery.
• Prepare products for delivery.
• Complete daily log book to record delivery activity.
• Unload trucks upon arrival at drop‑off location and distribution center.
• Clean warehouse based upon location and company compliance standards.
• Put products away as necessary.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Previous delivery driver experience preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
• Must have a current driver’s license (CDL is not required).
• Ability to pass a DOT Physical and MVR Check.
• Maintain a safe driving record, demonstrating responsible and cautious driving behavior.

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
• Previous driver experience preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic proficiency with MS Office Suite, Outlook and Internet applications.
• Basic analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem‑solving, presentation, budgeting, project management, and planning skills.
• Basic verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as internal and external clients.
• Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast‑paced and deadline‑oriented environment.
• Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
• Self‑motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
• Ability to work overtime as necessary.
• Must have a current driver’s license.

• Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk, hear and see.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50+ pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• The noise level in the work environment may be high.
