Job SummaryThe Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the senior leadership team and reports directly to the Co‑CEOs. The CFO is responsible for the overarching financial strategy and operations of the organization, driving growth through advanced FP&A, sophisticated forecasting, and rigorous cash and liquidity management.
Key Leadership and Strategic Responsibilities- Strategic Visioning & Business Partnership: Partner closely with the Co‑CEOs and Senior Leadership Team to formulate long‑term strategic plans and deliver forward‑looking scenario modeling and strategic insights.
- Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Spearhead the organization’s FP&A function, transforming complex data into actionable intelligence and continuously improving reporting capabilities.
- Agile Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead annual business planning, budgeting, and rolling forecasting, balancing growth with profitability while navigating macroeconomic shifts.
- Optimized Cash & Liquidity Management: Direct core treasury functions, focusing on cash flow optimization, working capital management, and long‑term liquidity planning.
- Capital & Banking Alignment: Manage banking relationships in the US and Canada, including working capital, foreign currency lines of credit, and term debt to align capital structure with growth plans.
- Operational & Cost Analysis: Analyze manufacturing costs and track operational performance against the budget via detailed variance reporting.
- Performance Metrics: Translate corporate goals into actionable departmental plans with key performance indicators.
- Team Leadership: Teach, motivate, mentor, and supervise finance and accounting staff to foster continuous improvement and high performance.
- Corporate Governance & Risk: Oversee year‑end audit, tax planning/compliance, and comprehensive risk management initiatives, including insurance, credit limits, and IT security.
- Technology Stewardship: Oversee the IT department to ensure information systems and data architecture support robust financial reporting and business objectives.
- Education: Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), Finance, or Accounting preferred.
- Certification: CPA or Certified Corporate FP&A Professional designation highly preferred.
- Experience: 8 to 10 years of progressive financial management experience, especially in FP&A, budgeting, and strategic planning within food manufacturing, agriculture, or commodities.
- Technical Acumen: Exceptional knowledge of data analysis, financial modeling, forecasting methods, and ERP systems; experience leading an IT department is a plus.
- Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to distill complex financial data into strategic narratives for internal and external stakeholders.
