Are you a seasoned procurement professional looking to make a real impact in a high-growth, regulated medical device environment? Sun Tech Medical, Inc. is seeking a Senior Buyer to own global product lines and supplier relationships while driving both strategic initiatives and hands-on execution.
This role is a strategic and hands-on position that blends commercial leadership, regulatory discipline, operation execution, and cross-functional influence. You’ll combine strategic thinking with day-to-day execution, managing supply continuity, global logistics, and regulatory compliance, while also performing manual updates, report tracking, and follow-up where systems are not fully automated. Job Responsibilities- Lead procurement for assigned domestic and global product lines with full ownership of supplier relationships.
- Influence cross-functional decisions and work directly with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Finance, and Customer Service.
- Provide guidance to Buyers or junior team members regarding the procurement processes, reporting, and supplier management to ensure consistent execution and professional development.
- Drive process improvements, SOP updates, and item master governance, ensuring data integrity and compliance.
- Collaborate with Product Mangers regarding End-of-Life (EOL) product planning to ensure smooth product transitions.
- Build Supply Chain visibility and insights using Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, formulas) and Power BI.
- Play a key role in audit readiness, maintaining quality-first documentation.
- Manage manual reporting, dashboards, data updates, and follow-up, including coordination with contract suppliers (e.g., PCBA manufacturers), while navigating evolving processes across departments.
- It is not just limited to this job description as procurement is an ever-changing role and requires the team to pivot as needed or requested.
- 7+ years of progressive procurement experience in manufacturing; medical device experience is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics or Industrial Engineering
- Comfortable owning strategic or high-risk supplies (contract manufacturers, PCBA, critical component suppliers) and skilled at managing escalation paths for supply disruptions
- Global supply chain experience, including international logistics and customs (to include Tariffs/HTS Codes)
- Experienced in supplier negotiations, cost reduction initiatives, and risk mitigation
- Familiar with regulatory compliance (FDA 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 13485, MDSAP)
- Capable of maintaining accurate reporting, data updates, and follow-up in situations where other departments may be working toward fully standardized processes
- Have a strong cross-functional business acumen and understanding of how all departments work together within the organization
- Analytical, proactive, and persistent with a solutions-oriented mindset
- Collaborate with Engineering, QA and R&D during new product development to lead supply readiness for NPIs or product changes
- Oversee Excess & Obsolete (E&O) inventory, driving strategies to reduce waste, optimize working capital, and coordinate disposition with cross-functional teams
- Excellent organization skill set with the ability to re-prioritize and/or pivot
