About the Role

Are you passionate about providing individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs? Do you thrive in a collaborative, student-centered environment? Sterling Montessori is seeking a dedicated Cross-Categorical Resource Teacher to join our Exceptional Children Department and make a meaningful impact on K-8 students’ learning experiences.

What You’ll Do
  • Implement IEP learning objectives through small‑group, individual, and whole‑class instruction.
  • Develop and execute behavior management plans in collaboration with the Behavior Support Specialist.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Adapt curriculum and utilize alternative teaching techniques to meet student needs.
  • Conduct evaluations of student progress through formal and informal assessments.
  • Communicate student progress effectively with parents, staff, and school administration.
  • Provide direction and support to teacher assistants, substitutes, or volunteers as needed.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to enhance student learning.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, staff training, and professional development opportunities.
What You Bring

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Exceptional Children (EC) State License or ability to obtain.
  • Experience working with K‑8 students, particularly those with exceptional needs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of IDEA regulations, special education compliance, and public school policies.
  • AMS Montessori Training & experience in a Montessori setting.
