Systems Engineer
Job Summary
As a Net App Systems Engineer, you are part of a team that is responsible for hardware implementation, OS implementation, analysis, evaluation, testing, debugging, and troubleshooting in support of Net App’s engineering labs & datacenters. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand and address customer needs, develop implementation plans, and execute on those plans.
Essential Functions:
System Engineers are responsible for a wide range of functions and expertise. As a part of a team, you will help to ensure that team objectives, ticket Service Level Agreements (SLA), and project deadlines are met. The essential functions of the team include:
- Plan, design, implement, and lead hardware & software installation projects.
- Analyze, test, troubleshoot, and debug hardware & software.
- Plan, conduct and direct the analysis of business problems to be solved. May work with technical teams, to understand functional business needs and jointly develop solutions.
- Problem diagnosis and resolution.
- Ensure client satisfaction and client management.
- Reporting to customers and management on status, resources need, and projected outcomes.

- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other Information Systems Engineering team members to meet deadlines; ability to work independently as well.
- Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and understanding how to utilize them in a development environment.
- Ability to follow standard engineering principles and practices.

- Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently with competing deadlines.
Responsibility and Interaction:

- Rack and stack hardware per vendor supported configurations.
- Install HBA/PCI cards.
- Cable hardware.
- Load an operating system on a server and configure network services.
- Provide onsite physical assistance for remote engineers.
- Maintain an asset database.

- Interaction:
- This individual interacts with development engineers, quality assurance engineers, the direct manager, and the technical team on assigned projects, and may communicate with employees in other functions as required.
- Working in a global company this may include working with engineers in different parts of the world and timezones
- Regular and detailed direction is provided, as well as ongoing review of activities and priorities.
- The ideal candidate will be an important contributor to team projects.

Education & Experience
Prior work experience is required;2+ years’ experience preferred.
Compensation:
The target salary range for this position is 70, USD. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package.
