Signal Integrity Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a Signal Integrity Engineer to support a Security and Enterprise Routing systems team, playing a key role in the design, simulation, and validation of next-generation hardware. In this role, you will contribute to system-level design, perform advanced signal and power integrity simulations, and support validation activities, while collaborating closely with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance networking and security products.
Responsibilities
+ Design and analyze high-speed digital systems for next-generation security products and enterprise routing platforms.
+ Perform detailed signal integrity simulations for high-speed interfaces, including Ser Des and DDR4/DDR5 memory links.
+ Use HFSS and related electromagnetic tools to run simulations and evaluate high-speed interconnects, packages, and PCBs.
+ Apply strong transmission line theory fundamentals to model and optimize high-speed channels and interconnect structures.
+ Validate high-speed Ser Des interfaces in the lab using appropriate test equipment and methodologies.
+ Support the design and development of high-speed DDR links and associated PCB layouts to meet performance and reliability targets.
+ Conduct power integrity (PI) analysis using tools such as Cadence Power
SI to ensure robust power delivery for high-speed systems.
+ Leverage tools such as IBIS, HSPICE, ADS, MATLAB, and Allegro to perform circuit, system-level, and layout-aware simulations.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware design, layout, and validation engineers, to refine designs and resolve signal and power integrity issues.
+ Document analysis results, design guidelines, and best practices to support ongoing and future hardware development projects.
Essential Skills
+ Strong fundamentals in transmission line theory and high-speed signal propagation.
+ Experience validating high-speed Ser Des interfaces in a lab environment.
+ Hands-on experience using HFSS to run electromagnetic simulations.
+ 0.5-2 years of practical experience working with high-speed systems and related measurements.
+ Experience using a Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) for high-speed signal characterization.
+
Experience with Cadence Power
SI for AC/DC power integrity analysis.
+ Proficiency with high-speed simulation and analysis tools such as IBIS, HSPICE, ADS, MATLAB, and Allegro.
+
Working experience with high-speed DDR links (DDR4 and DDR5), including NRZ and PAM4 Ser Des, and high-speed PCB/package development.
+ Coursework or project experience in signal integrity, power noise analysis, or closely related fields.
Additional
Skills & Qualifications
+
Experience with NRZ and PAM4 Ser Des architectures and their associated design and validation considerations.
+ Familiarity with high-speed PCB and package development workflows, including layout constraints and stack-up optimization.
+ Exposure to power integrity analysis techniques and best practices for high-speed digital systems.
+ Academic or project-based background in signal integrity, power noise analysis, or related areas of electronic design.
+ Interest in working on cutting-edge technologies for next-generation security and enterprise routing platforms.
+ Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering teams and communicate technical findings clearly.
Work Environment
This role is primarily onsite, Monday through Friday, in a lab- and hardware-focused environment. You will spend significant time working directly with high-speed test equipment such as Vector Network Analyzers and other measurement instruments, as well as using advanced simulation tools including HFSS, IBIS, HSPICE, ADS, MATLAB, Cadence Power
SI, and Allegro. The work setting emphasizes hands-on hardware validation, close collaboration with design and layout teams, and engagement with advanced technologies that enable next-generation security and enterprise routing products.
