Equipment Automation Engineer

Position Summary

Support manufacturing efforts for commercial and clinical processes of inhaled products (DPI and nasal) and other formulations compatible with the equipment available at the Catalent Morrisville site.

Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm, 100% on site.

• Collaborate with Process Development Group on new product introductions, including design and sourcing of custom equipment.
• Provide engineering expertise for design, specification, and installation.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose control system problems, working closely with maintenance and technicians.
• Examine, design, and implement industrial-improved processes and solutions.
• Identify, plan, and implement key projects to improve quality, reduce costs, increase productivity, and reduce cycle time.
• Ensure all automation designs and technical documentation adhere to GMP standards.
• Develop and implement improved and robust control strategies for manufacturing processes.
• Train users on control system functionality (PLC, computer/control networks, control computers, and instrumentation).
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline.
• 4-6 years of related automation/equipment/controls experience in a GMP environment (pharmaceutical preferred).
• Experience with Rockwell/Allen‑Bradley batch control system; experience with other controls such as Siemens, Schneider, etc. preferred.
• Experience in field wiring practices, panel design, troubleshooting, and startup of control systems, and instrumentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, and Outlook.
