MEL Maintenance Tech
Job Purpose:
Perform maintenance and repair activities for electrification lab equipment and facility infrastructure to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of PV and electrification test environments. This position supports both labs testing operations and building maintenance, including preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and system improvements.

General Responsibilities:
- Communicate effectively with engineering teams, facilities, and leadership
- Work independently or as part of a team
- Support on-call rotation as required
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Required
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Preferred:
Two-year technical degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Facilities Maintenance, or related field.
Required Experience:
Minimum 3 years of experience in maintenance, facilities, or technical support. Experience with electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems required. Lab or test equipment experience preferred.

Skills and Abilities:
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read electrical schematics and technical documentation
- Experience with diagnostic tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes)
- Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Basic computer skills for documentation and tracking
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Valid driver's license
Preferred
Skills:
- Experience with electrification systems (motors, inverters, batteries)
- Experience with calibration equipment (thermal chambers, power analyzers)
- Background in mechatronics, automation, or robotics
- Familiarity with preventative maintenance systems
Work Environment:
Combination of laboratory, shop, and facility environments. Physical activity including lifting and standing required. Occasional off-shift or on-call work may be required.
