Position

Summary

This position is responsible for multiple activities on the Teleflex web development team — from website and web application development and support, to maintaining website content, structure, and development standards through our web CMS system, to assisting in maintaining web server software as well as acting as the technical lead on key web projects and initiatives. This position will work closely with other IT teams and other Teleflex business units in support of Teleflex web-based initiatives.

Principal

Responsibilities
  • Support websites and web applications using web standards programming and dynamic programming platforms such as .NET and Ruby on Rails.
  • Responsible for general web development and support on existing web-based applications, including break-fix, small enhancements, general content and web page support (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) as well as maintenance/configuration of web server software such as Linux, Apache, and IIS.
  • Work with application developers, IT systems professionals, graphic artists, and business owners in managing/deploying content for the Internet and Intranet sites.
  • Assist in the support, customization, and configuration of Teleflex websites built in our CMS platform, dotCMS.
  • Assist in the maintenance and configuration of web server software and well as the promotion of code and application updates to the staging and production environments.
  • Act as a technology lead on key web projects and initiatives, helping to design and architect the technical solution and collect and address all system and user requirements.
  • Work with the customer to resolve support issues, scope out software enhancements, and write various forms of documentation.
  • Keep current with emerging web technologies.
  • Ensure web-based solutions are best in class, maintainable and reliable.
  • Provide high level of customer service, and a willingness‑to‑help attitude.
  • Comply with Teleflex’s methodology, enforce policies, standards, including internal and external controls.
Education / Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Science, Management Information Systems. Combination of education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 5 – 7+ years’ experience developing and maintaining websites and web-enabled/internet-based applications and helping to architect web-based solutions to fit the customer’s needs.
  • Experience working in a regulated work environment (preferably FDA).
Specialized Skills / Other Requirements
  • Basic Linux/Unix knowledge required.
  • Web Development

    Skills:

    HTML, JavaScript, CSS, jQuery, XSLT, XQuery, basic web design, page layout, and web programming standards.
  • Experience with Microsoft .NET.
  • Experience in Responsive Web Design Development Practices
  • Experience developing and supporting applications on web programming platforms such as Ruby on Rails, Java, PHP, etc. a plus
