SummaryNorth Carolina Children's, a new children's health system in North Carolina, will be the state's only academic health system dedicated solely to caring for kids.
Assistant Vice President for Development - Major and Principal GivingWill oversee the strategy, execution, and performance of NC Children's Foundation's major and principal gifts program, ultimately building and managing a high-performing team responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors capable of making gifts from $100,000 to $10 million. This leader will work closely with clinical, academic, and administrative partners to align donor interests with NC Children's priorities and translate those priorities into compelling philanthropic opportunities.
The role requires a visionary fundraiser who is highly innovative and skilled at crafting unconventional pathways to achieve ambitious philanthropic goals.
- Strategic Leadership & Vision:
Team with the Foundation President, Vice President for Development, Board of Directors, and NC Children's leadership to develop and implement a multi-year, scalable fundraising strategy. Build and implement innovative, data-driven, and relationship-focused approaches to engage emerging donors and partners. Support the buildout of the Foundation's philanthropic infrastructure, systems, policies and team. Serve as a strategic advisor to the President and Board of Directors on trends, opportunities, risk, and long-term strategy. - Fundraising & Campaign Development:
Design and execute a focused strategy to identify, engage, solicit, and steward individuals and organizations capable of making gifts of $100,000 and $10 million driving the vision and impact of NC Children's. Personally manage a select portfolio of individuals, families, and foundations with the capacity to make landmark investments that advance children's health in North Carolina and beyond. Create tailored engagement and solicitation strategies for these prospects, including detailed annual plans for NC Children's leadership, Duke Health and UNC Health clinicians, and faculty to articulate board, compelling cases for support transforming institutional priorities into inspiring investment opportunities.
Contribute to the design and execution of NC Children's comprehensive campaign, ensuring philanthropy efforts align with long-term institutional goals and measurable outcomes. Establish a new donor pipeline-leveraging networks and a compelling value proposition. Build and lead a high-performing, ambitious philanthropy team. Team with the Foundation President to establish metrics of success, evaluation systems, and accountability structures; create a culture of stewardship and personalized philanthropy. - Leading People:
