Research Associate​/Senior Research Associate, Analytical Chemistry

Location: Morrisville/RTP, NC – On-Site Employment: Full-Time DMC Employee Compensation: RA: $64,000 –$74,500 / SRA: $75,000 - $87,000 annually, based on experience and position level.

We are looking for aResearch Associate/Senior Research Associate to join our Analytical Chemistryteam in Research Triangle Park, NC. This role will support the development and optimization of our high-throughput microbial engineering platform, from strain design and construction through testing and data analysis. Successful candidates will have experience performing routine analytical analyses. Hands-on HPLC/UPLC experience is required; LC/MS experience is preferred.

Please note that this position is supported by grant funding and is initially offered for a 12-month term, subject to the terms and duration of thegrant.

• Performs routine sample preparation, analysis, data reduction and reporting
• Adheres to written protocols and quality tracking
• Performs routine instrument maintenance and reports any repairs needed to Group Lead
• Maintains safe practices and work environments
• Keeps excellent laboratory records
• Prepares routine written and oral reporting of activities and results

• B.S. or M.S. in Chemistry or related program
• 1-3 years of hands-on laboratory experience in a biotechnical environment
• Direct, hands-on experience in operation of HPLC/UPLC
• Quantitative, data-driven analysis of experimental results and an analytical mindset
• Experience in following, drafting, and/or revising detailed SOPs and protocols
• Capability to manage multiple workflows and experiments within a single day
• Ability to work and communicate effectively with cross-disciplinary teams
• Must be a self-starter, motivated, scientifically curious, and collaborative
• Open to feedback and rigorous data review
• Flexible schedule including occasional evenings and weekends

• Experience in operation of LC/MS
• Experience in plate-based colorimetric assays
• Experience in a regulated environment (CGMP,GLP,GCP)
• Electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) experience, especially Lab Guru
• Experience in statistical analyses and Design of Experiments (DoE)
