About the Role:

The Dishwasher plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation standards of a food service establishment, ensuring that all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are thoroughly cleaned and ready for use. This position supports the kitchen and dining staff by efficiently managing the flow of clean items, which directly impacts the overall customer experience and operational efficiency. The Dishwasher must adhere to strict hygiene and safety protocols to prevent contamination and maintain a safe working environment.

This role requires physical stamina to handle repetitive tasks, lift heavy items, and stand for extended periods while maintaining a consistent pace. Ultimately, the Dishwasher contributes to the smooth operation of the kitchen by providing reliable and timely cleaning services that uphold the establishment's quality standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Basic reading and comprehension skills to understand cleaning instructions and safety guidelines.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy items up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly throughout the shift.
• Capability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions without compromising quality or safety.
• Demonstrated reliability with regular and punctual attendance.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a food service or restaurant environment.
• Knowledge of proper sanitization techniques and food safety standards.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks.
• Basic understanding of kitchen operations and workflow.
• Certification in food safety or sanitation is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Wash, clean, and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans using commercial dishwashing equipment and manual methods as needed.
• Sort and stack clean dishes and kitchenware in designated areas to ensure easy access for kitchen and service staff.
• Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area, including sinks, counters, floors, and dishwashing machines, following health and safety regulations.
• Assist with the removal of trash and recycling materials to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Follow all instructions from kitchen supervisors and managers to support overall kitchen operations and respond to urgent cleaning needs.

The required skills such as basic reading and following instructions ensure that the Dishwasher can accurately interpret cleaning protocols and safety procedures, which is essential for maintaining hygiene standards.
