Systems Engineer

Job Description The Systems Engineer will be part of the Enterprise IS team working primarily with the business units in the Americas but will be required to assist with other business units as needed. This position will be member of the Information Services Department and will assist the team with end user support, requirements gathering, development, and testing our internally developed manufacturing application built on .NET

with an on-premises SQL database. This role will play a key part in the application's evolution, including assisting with the design and documentation of upgrades to a Blazor Web Application for back-office transactions and a .NET MAUI application for shop-floor transactions. The ideal candidate will have strong .NET expertise, experience with modern web and mobile frameworks, and proficiency in version control using Git Hub.

Git Hub Copilot will be leveraged to implement automated module-level testing, ensuring robust and scalable solutions for our manufacturing operations.## Responsibilities
* Ensure Corporate and IS policy and procedures are adhered to.
* Remain abreast of other initiatives within the IS Enterprise organization to ensure compatibility and integration opportunities are not hindered.
* Maintain awareness of Enterprise system software in use by the organization.
* Attend business sector meetings to stay abreast of business requirements and changes as required.
* Provide ongoing support, development, and testing for the existing .NET-based manufacturing application integrated with an on-premises SQL database.
* Collaborate on the design and authoring of High-Level Design (HLD) documentation for application upgrades, focusing on architecture, data flow, and integration strategies.
* Assist in migrating and enhancing the application to a Blazor Web Application framework for efficient back-office transaction handling.
* Contribute to the development of a .NET MAUI application tailored for shop-floor transactions, ensuring cross-platform compatibility and user-friendly interfaces.
* Manage code repositories in Git Hub, including branching, merging, and maintaining best practices for version control.
* Develop and implement automated module-level testing scripts using Git Hub Copilot to streamline quality assurance processes.
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to application performance, database interactions, and system integrations.
* Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, testers, and stakeholders, to align technical solutions with business needs.
* Stay updated on emerging .NET technologies and best practices to recommend improvements.## Qualifications
* Proficiency in .NET development, including C# programming and ASP.NET frameworks.
* Knowledge of .NET MAUI for cross-platform mobile and desktop app development.
* Experience with Blazor for building interactive web applications.
* Proficiency in SQL Server for database design, querying, and optimization in on-premises environments.
* Hands-on experience with Git Hub for source control, including pull requests, CI/CD pipelines, and collaboration tools.
* Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools; experience using AI-assisted coding tools like Git Hub Copilot.
* Ability to create High-Level Design documentation, including UML diagrams, system architecture overviews, and API specifications.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a team setting.
* Excellent communication skills for documenting designs and collaborating on technical specifications.
* Ability to effectively manage the application development life cycle.
* Ability to work well with others.
* Must be trustworthy and handle work of a confidential nature.
* Ability to travel outside of the United States for up to 2-3 weeks at a time.
** Education and Experience

Required:

*** Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
* 3+ years of experience in .NET development, including C# programming and ASP.NET frameworks.
* 3+ years of experience in SQL Server for database design, querying, and optimization in on-premises environments.
