Description and RequirementsThe Software Engineering Team Lead for Engineering Tools & Technologies (ET&T) is responsible for leading the design, development, deployment, and support of engineering tools, diagnostics, analytics, automation, and AI-driven solutions that improve product quality, serviceability, and operational efficiency across ISG. This role combines technical leadership, people management, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver scalable software solutions that support engineering, manufacturing, field quality, and service organizations.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of software engineers responsible for the development and support of ET&T applications, analytics platforms, diagnostic tools, and automation solutions.
- Define technical architecture, development standards, and software engineering best practices to ensure secure, scalable, and reliable solutions.
- Partner with Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Service, Supply Chain, and Product teams to identify business requirements and deliver software solutions that improve operational efficiency and customer experience.
- Manage and supervise external contractor companies and software development partners, ensuring delivery quality, adherence to technical standards, project milestones, budget commitments, security requirements, and overall alignment with ET&T business objectives.
- Drive the adoption of AI, machine learning, data analytics, and automation technologies to enhance quality processes and decision-making.
- Oversee the full software development lifecycle, including requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Manage project priorities, resource planning, budgets, and delivery schedules for multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Mentor and develop team members through technical coaching, performance management, and career development planning.
- Promote continuous improvement through automation, code quality, Dev Ops practices, and process optimization.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity, privacy, and corporate governance requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field. Master preferred.
- Software development experience, including 3+ years in technical leadership or people management roles.
- Strong experience with cloud technologies, web application development, APIs, databases, and modern software architectures.
- Experience leading cross-functional software projects and global teams.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and Dev Ops practices.
