Position Summary

As a Software Engineering Intern, you will contribute to technological innovations in vascular positioning systems, including artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML), application software, and embedded software systems. Working alongside our Software Development Engineering team, you will gain hands-on experience supporting both the sustainment of our current Rhythm DLX Navigation system and the development of our next-generation navigation platform. This internship runs part-time during the Spring semester and full-time over the Summer, with strong potential for a full-time offer upon graduation for candidates who demonstrate strong performance.

  • Support the design, development, and testing of software for connected medical device systems, gaining exposure to both the sustainment of the current Rhythm DLX Navigation system and development of our next-generation navigation platform.
  • Write, debug, and unit test software code in C++ and/or C# within embedded and/or application software environments, under the guidance of senior software engineers.
  • Assist with software design control documentation, including requirements, traceability, risk mitigations, verification & validation (V&V) protocols, and test reports.
  • Participate in code reviews, sprint ceremonies, and cross-functional design discussions within an Agile/Scrum software development framework.
  • Investigate and help troubleshoot software defects, working with the team to identify root cause and implement solutions.
  • Explore applications of AI/ML concepts and AI-based development tools on real engineering problems, where applicable to the assigned project.
